This past weekend I visited Omaha, Nebraska and let me tell you, it was freezing cold. And being from Colorado it was that wet cold that I’m just totally not used to.

While I was there I took a few pictures and out of those that I took this is my favorite. It may even become my all-time favorite as well. It just goes to show you that picture opportunities can be totally unexpected. Luckily I had my camera with me as I was going to take some pictures of theĀ Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.

I got this picture walking back across the bridge from the Iowa side. Thankfully it was such a gloomy day. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have been able to see the bright red of the cardinal through the trees.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is that there’s always a silver lining. Also just because it’s cold and cloudy doesn’t mean that there aren’t some fantastic photo opportunities.
